Our department is rich in history and pride. We offer a comprehensive slate of emergency related services to our citizens, our related partners, the County of Minburn, Vegreville Rural Fire Protection Assn., and to those who travel within our service territory. I introduce to you our slogan "Ordinary People Doing Extraordinary Things" which truly represents our family. Our firefighters are highly skilled, experienced individuals, who are devoted, watchful, intense, and courageous. They are also tender hearted, sympathetic, honorable, and truly faithful. These volunteers offer willingly their free time to furnish a helping hand to people in their time of need, to fundraise for a needy charity, and to represent our Community of Vegreville with pride and honour.

Our business community needs to be commended for their commitment, contributions, and for providing time, resources, as well as support to those volunteer firefighters whom they employ.

Not only are the efforts of those business owners , and the firefighters themselves recognized, but we need to acknowledge the price paid to those firefighter's families, which is second to none. The countless hours of worry, wonder, and loneliness are echoed each time the bell sounds.

I task each individual who has taken time to read my message, to say a prayer, and if the only prayer you say in your whole life is "Thank-you", that would suffice.
