Training in our Department is very important and ongoing. We strive to be the best we can be!

The Vegreville Fire Department embarks on a rigorous training program every year that is designed to provide our firefighters with all the skills they need to do a difficult job in today's world. The fire dept. is not only charged with fire suppression, but with crash rescue, dangerous goods, and specialized rescue which includes trench rescue, high angle rescue, water and ice rescue, etc, etc.

To facilitate all this training, we have in house training every Monday night, as well as 3 to 9 fire/rescue related courses per year. We endeavor to provide not only our new staff with the tools necessary to do their job effectively, but also to develop our officer corps, plus keep everyone in practice for the routine task that sometimes can be too easily taken for granted. We do all this as well as hold down full time jobs, maintain our family lives and commitments to our community.
