Captain Phil Rowe, Fire Services Coordinator

 

Phil, 40, has been on the VFD since 1992, and is our Fire Prevention Officer. His favorite truck on the VFD is Engine #1 in the Officer's seat of course. Phil also has numerous fire/rescue courses under his belt and is a registered EMR. He is a member of the 2004 and 2005 Provincial Hose Coupling Champions and was awarded the VFD Employee of the Year in 2004. On February 1st, 2010 Phil was appointed to the position of Fire Services Coordinator.

Phil is single and has one daughter, Jenna, and one son, Tyson. His  interests include quadding, fishing, hunting, and woodworking and spending time with the kids. Phil is employed with the Government of Canada in "Quality Control". He is also one of Vegreville's Town Councilors.

"I really enjoy working with the public (children especially) in town on fire prevention/life safety lessons. My extra curricular activities relating to the department and other town duties keep me very active".
