Fire Hose Testing Records
I. Scope:
This standard establishes a record-keeping system for fire hose testing. It was created to:
A. Provide a record of fire hose that has been tested.
B. Record any deficiencies found with any fire hose.
II. Records:
A. The fire hose testing records shall be maintained by the administrative assistant.
B. Records shall be located in the hose testing files maintained by the administrative assistant.
C. Records will be reviewed and updated on an annual basis.
D. The supplied Hose Test and Location Log Sheet will be used for recording purposes.
E. When hose testing, certain information must be recorded on the Hose Test and Location Log Sheet:
1. Hose number – the identification number on the hose coupling, issued by the department.
2. Size – diameter of the hose being tested, in millimeters.
3. Test Date
4. Pass/Fail – Whether the hose passed or failed the test procedure.
5. Remarks – Any other comments about that particular section of hose (deficiencies, etc.).
III. Responsibilities:
The Fire Chief is responsible to ensure that all hose testing records are maintained and updated regularly.
